Lemley Lands Northwest Victory in Grays Harbor finale!

Cody Morris, Elma, Washington (5-27-2012) - Entering the Sunday night conclusion of a season opening Memorial Day Weekend double at Grays Harbor, Roger Crockett had been downright dominant (Fletch Photo).

The reigning ASCS Northwest champ was back in form with a opening night win on Saturday, but the Medford, Oregon pilots’ form was taken a small notch in the Sunday night finale.

Bellingham, Washington’s Brock Lemley had the advantage of the pole position at the start of the 25 lap main event, but five stoppages over the duration of the contest provided ample opportunity for the two powerhouse sprint car pilots immediately in pursuit.

But Lemley, a former two-time Skagit Speedway sprint car champ, fought off the challenge each time to snare his first ASCS Northwest victory of the season aboard the Peterson Motorsports No. 23n.

Crockett settled for runner up honors with Forney, Texas native and ASCS veteran Travis Rilat claiming show position honors following a fifth place showing Saturday.

A runner up to Crockett in 2011 ASCS Northwest points, Henry VanDam easily earned the Hard Charger nod after the Enumclaw, Washington driver transferred from deep within B Main action before turning in a sensational drive from 19th to fourth. Everett, Washington’s Rick Fauver dropped a few spots to complete the top five finishing order.

With two of fifteen ASCS Northwest Region dates in the record books, the ASCS Northwest Region returns to action June 22nd for a weekend double at Cottage Grove Speedway.
