ASCS-Northwest Releases New Payout Structure; Will Utilize Traditional ASCS Format

Ben Deatherage - ASCS Northwest - 2014 expects to be a great year for the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region. With consistency the motto for this season the ASCS-Northwest Region will utilize the traditional ASCS format utilizing passing points in the heat races and having the top eight in passing points after the heats redraw for their starting positions for the main event. This format will be used for every single ASCS-Northwest Region sanctioned event.

In addition to the format the purse has been revisited. The ASCS-Northwest Region has decided that in 2014 the purse will be increased from last year’s payout structure which used a sliding scale payout structure. This year each ASCS-Northwest Region sanctioned event will be at least $2,000.00 to win and $300.00 to start the main event.

Why was it said at least $2,000.00 to win? Because it gets better. There will be three shows where the amount of money to win will go from $2,000.00 to $2,500.00 to the victor. These events will be the second date of a two-day show and are Saturday June 14th at Oregon’s Cottage Grove Speedway, the finale for Speedweek Northwest on Saturday July 5th (also at Cottage Grove), and the season finale at the Central Washington State Fair Raceway in Yakima, Washington on Saturday September 20th.

“We hope with some of the changes we’ve made we can get a good strong car count for this season,” commented ASCS-Northwest Series Director Brian Crockett, “I think 2014 is going to be a good year where fans can see some great races.”

Don’t forget that at least $10,000 will be up for grabs also for these drivers at the end of the year for their point fund. Be sure and don’t miss a lap of the action as the ASCS-Northwest Region as the region’s best 360 Sprint Car drivers will contest on seven different race tracks in three different states that includes Oregon, Washington, and California.
