Ben Deatherage - LEBANON, Ore. (August 8, 2014) - The American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region would be on tap at Willamette Speedway on Friday August 8th. A total of twenty-two cars would sign in on the registration sheets representing the states of Oregon, Washington, California, and Arizona as well as the Canadian province of British Columbia.

Logan Forler would take full advantage of his outside front row starting position to grab the initial race lead. The main event would see a total of five stoppages which would bunch up the field on several occasions but each time Forler would keep his mount in front. Lapped traffic would come into the mix several times but the Steve Forler Trucking/P.G.H. Excavating/Lucas Oil Products/Rod Ends by LRB Manufacturing #2L Maxim of Forler, from Lake Havasu City, Arizona, would maintain the top spot.

However Henry Van Dam, out of Enumclaw, Washington, would briefly seize the lead on lap fourteen only to give it back due to a caution coming out. Forler would keep all challengers in check on the final restart on lap twenty-seven to pick up his second win of 2014 with the ASCS-Northwest Region and his third of his career with the tour.

Roger Crockett of Medford managed to finish second, in his Rocket Designs/Al Parker Racing Engines/Omlid & Swinney Fire Protection and Security/TEC Equipment #11 KPC, while the Kovash Logging/Johansen Excavating/FK Shocks/Big Al Kids & Motorsports Foundation #33V A.R.T. of Henry Van Dam was third. The balance of the top five finishers would consist of Citrus Heights, California native Willie Croft in the Richmond Engines/Firedown Graphics/XXX Race Co./Rutz Racing #8R XXX in fourth for car owner Doug Rutz and the Cook Crane Corporation/Linder Powdercoating/Speedmart Inc./Rodgers Racing Enignes #22 KPC of Garen Linder from Central Point.

Earlier in the evening heat race winners were Willie Croft, Logan Forler, and Shane Forté of Junction City in the Oregon Fuel Injection/Guaranty Chevy/Davis Cabinets/Grant Springer Racing Engines #26F Maxim. The ASCS-Northwest Region will be back in action on Saturday August 9th for their only visit of the season at Sunset Speedway Park in Banks.
