Oberlin Speedway’s Bob Salem Memorial This Weekend For United Rebel Sprint Series

Bryan Hulbert – OBERLIN, Kan. (September 7, 2022) Readying for a double-header weekend at Oberlin Speedway, the Bob Salem Memorial welcomes the Drive to Zero United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford on Saturday, September 10, and Sunday, September 11.
Part of the annual tribute in 2021, the weekend saw Ty Williams atop preliminary competition while Koby Walters led the only lap that matters the following night. Going all the way back to the start of the United Rebel Sprint Series, Oberlin Speedway first welcomed the tour in May 2006 with two nights going to Jon Johnson.
Getting down to the final run of 2022 this weekend begins at four race sprint to the finish as September 17 at Jefferson County Speedway and September 18 at Concordia Speedway are the only other races left to be contested. Going into the final four nights, Luke Cranston leads the way by four markers over Steven Richardson for the championship. Jeremy Huish, Ty Williams, and Jon Freeman make up the top five, with only 92 points between the five competitors.
Saturday, September 10, and Sunday, September 11, open at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (CDT) and includes Late Models and Vintage Cars. Tickets per night are $20 for adults, $15 for veterans and first responders, and free for kids 12 and under. Oberlin Speedway is located on the Decatur County Fairgrounds in Oberlin, Kan.
