URSS-United Rebel Sprint Series
DODGE CITY DOMINANCE: Jeremy Huish Wires the Field to Win the Jerry Soderberg Memorial
Dodge City, Kan 7/27/2024 (www.urssracing.com) - The United Rebel Sprint Series presented by RacinDirt.Com made its return for the third time this season at Dodge City Raceway Park. Thirteen drivers made the trip, as Jeremy Huish and Taylor Velasquez were slated to start in the front row following preliminary action.
At the drop of the green flag, the field started to battle for positions before the 97 of Brian Herbert, (Kinlsey, Kan), started to spin out in turn one, before sliding back up the track and collection the 0 of Steven Richardson, (Liberal, Kan), ending both of their nights.
Another restart in store, the drivers came back to the green flag and as the field went into turn one, the 112 of Brayton Dewell, (Fowler, Kan), made contact with the left front tire of the 65 Kohle Ricke machine, (Dodge City, Kan), ending Ricke’s night.
On the third restart, things quickly settled for a few laps, as the 20 of Jeremy Huish, (Ness City, Kan), took off with the early lead. Lap after lap, Huish would open the gap between himself and Taylor Velasquez, eventually building enough distance between second and first.
“The starting position really helped us there,” said Jeremy Huish after the race. “Hats off to the track crew who worked their tails off trying to beat the conditions tonight” Huish added.
As the series heads to the infamous half-mile at the Belleville High Banks next weekend, the momentum couldn’t come at a better time for Huish. “This has been a weekend we have been focused on all year long, and with both our teams combined, I’m really interested to see what we can do” Huish added.
With the win at Dodge City Raceway Park, Jeremy Huish also surpassed Ray Seemann in the all-time wins list, grabbing his 13th Feature win with the Rebels.
