WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Championship Doubleheader Weekend on Tap for the United Rebel Sprint Series

9/17/2024 Dodge City, Kansas (www.urssracing.com) - That time of the season has come in the year where tracks start hosting their championship races and this weekend, the United Rebel Sprint Series will get two-days and two completely different tracks to showcase their talents.

Friday, September 20th the series heads back to SaltCity Racing in Hutchinson, Kansas for the series' fourth trip to the historic half-mile this season, with the last trip being the July doubleheader weekend with the USAC Silver Crown Series, seeing Liberal, Kansas native Steven Richardson grab his second win of the year with the Rebels. Now as the series eyes on another trip to the paperclip, look for potentially a new driver to find victory lane in the SaltCity.

In the last three visits to Huthinson, Kansas’s SaltCity Racing, three different drivers have been able to navigate the intimidating half-mile. With Taylor Velasquez and Ty Williams all winning this year on separate occasions, no driver has truly mastered the historic track.

The series will make just over a 2-hour trip back west on Saturday, September 21st, as Dodge City Raceway Park will play host to its Championship night along with the United Rebel Sprint Series. This year, only one driver has been able to conquer the uniquely configured 3/8 mile that is Dodge City Raceway Park, that only driver being Jeremy Huish. 3 out of the 6 races won by “The Rocket” this season have come at Dodge City Raceway Park.

The question now is can Jeremy Huish get the broom out this weekend and clean house this season at Dodge City, or will another driver break the streak? If Huish were able to do it though, it would be a first for the series as no other driver in the past has been able to sweep a track schedule in one single season with the tour.
