Kyle Miller did it again. It took the Eugene, Oregon pilot just nine laps to get the lead from his sixteenth starting position. The rest of the distance would see Miller with the lead and he would go on to win his sixth series race of the year and his fourth Non-Wing Speedweek triumph.
Leading the early goings was Wilsonville, Oregon’s Rob Lindsey in his Maxline Cases/Speedmart Inc./Competition Suspensions Inc. #23 XXX. Lindsey set a wicked pace but as the long green flag run continued to unfold Miller would reel him in and overtake the #23. Miller would lap all the way up to fourth place before putting his Grant Springer Racing Engines/Gary’s Subaru Service/Finest Detail #10 XXX back in victory lane.
Pat Canfield of Ariel, Washington would end the evening in second place in the Van Raden Industries #25 XXX followed by Damascus, Oregon pilot Kyle Mehner in his extremeturbosystems.com/Fast Racing Engines #7K XXX. Completing the top five finishers were Rob Lindsey in fourth and the Herz Precision Parts/Wolverine Chassis/Applied Suspensions #28 Eagle in fifth.
Earlier in the evening Kyle Mehner set fast time of the night at 13.311 seconds. Heat race winners were Mehner and Ravensdale, Washington chauffeur Dallas Melby in the Competition Motorsports/Rabourn Performance #14 CMS entry for car owner Ron Brown. Rob Lindsey would earn the trophy dash victory.
The Northwest Wingless Tour will head north to the Willamette Speedway to conclude the Non-Wing Speedway on Friday July 26th and Saturday 27th. For more information log on wingless.nwextremeseries.com.
