The sixth and final leg of the first ever Non-Wing Speedweek for the Northwest Wingless Tour would take place on Saturday July 27th at Willamette Speedway and it was a good one. Kyle Miller, of Eugene, Oregon, would again flex his muscles in the winner’s circle as he captured the triumph to win all six rounds of Speedweek. Miller would start the night off by shattering his own track record he set last by laying down a lightning quick 14.351 second lap.

Pat Canfield of Ariel, Washington was the early leader come feature time in his Van Raden Industries #25 XXX. Canfield would lead the first six laps before being overtaken. Kyle Miller would lead lap seven as he worked his way up from his sixth starting position.

Once Miller got the lead he would not let it go. The only thing that would slow him down would be the four cautions that would occur. When it was all over the Grant Springer Racing Engines/Gary’s Subaru Service/Finest Detail #10 XXX of Kyle Miller would earn his eighth win of the year with the NWWT and sweep the first ever Non-Wing Speedweek.

Finishing in second place would be Pat Canfield followed by Wilsonville, Oregon’s Rob Lindsey in his Maxline Cases/Competition Suspension Inc./Speedmart Inc. #23 XXX in third. The rest of the top five would consist of the Fuel Injection Enterprises #89 XXX of Sterling Kane from Albany, Oregon in fourth and Damascus, Oregon’s Kyle Mehner in fifth piloting the extremeturbosystems.com/Fast Racing Engines #7K XXX.

As mentioned at the top of the article Kyle Miller was fast time of the night while heat race winners were Kyle Miller and Kyle Mehner. Pat Canfield would score the victory in the trophy dash. The Northwest Wingless Tour will next be in action at Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday August 10th.
