GRP High Five UMSS Championship Standings Updated
GRP Motorsports High Five Championship Bonus Standings Updated
Since we have moved past the halfway mark of the 2011 UMSS racing season, the battle for the top five in the GRP High Five Championship Standings is starting to take shape. With 13 races in the books this season and another eight potential shows still to go, GRP has updated the point standings to reflect the best 11 of 13 shows for those drivers who have raced in at least 11 shows so far this season. There are eight drivers who have run 11 or more shows and three drivers who have competed in 10 UMSS events. The current GRP High Five Point Standings with the two lowest point scores thrown out are shown below. The standings will continue to be updated as we work our way towards the end of the season to see who will be crowned the 2011 UMSS Champion.
The Upper Midwest Sprintcar Series winged sprint car division season-ending championship point standings will see the top five drivers earn additional bonus money at the 2011 UMSS banquet next January courtesy of GRP Motorsports. With the success of the popular GRP Sweet Sixteen Bonus during the 2010 season, GRP decided to tie the 2011 bonus in with the UMSS season point standings when the series decided to allow drivers to throw out their two lowest point scores in determining the final standings at the end of the season. The GRP High Five Bonus will pay the UMSS Champion $2,000 at the banquet next January. The runner-up will earn $1,000. The third place finisher in the points will get $500 while the fourth and fifth place drivers will take home an extra $250 each.
