Bowers Overcomes Early Incident to Score Runner-Up Result

Inside Line Promotions – OGILVIE, Minn. (July 26, 2017) – Ryan Bowers put on a great show last Saturday when he returned to his home track and charged to a second-place finish at Wagamon’s Ogilvie Raceway with the Upper Midwest Sprint Series.

“It was a pretty good weekend,” he said. “It’s always good to come back to this track and see the familiar faces of friends, family and a lot of our sponsors.”

Bowers drew a decent pill that lined him and the Seidenkranz Brothers Racing team up fourth in a heat race. He quickly made it to the top spot and drove away with the victory.

“Getting the win in the heat race started us toward the back of the challenge race,” Bowers said. “Our car was really strong and we made it up to the front and finished second.”

That earned Bowers a spot in the feature redraw, in which he pulled the No. 1 to start the main event on the pole.

“We got a really good start, but were already in traffic by the fourth or fifth lap,” he said. “The guy who started in third had a good run, too, and we got into each other and I spun into the infield.”

Nothing was damaged from the spin and Bowers was able to restart in the 17th position.

“We charged back up through the field and made it to second before the checkered flag flew,” he said. “I think if we could have got a caution it would have made for an interesting race.”

Bowers and his new team have raced together only a few times, but have consistently showed speed and progress.

“I’m having a really great time driving for Seidenkranz Brothers Racing,” he said. “I can’t thank them enough for giving me this opportunity.”

Bowers and the team will be off for the next few weeks before resuming competition on Aug. 18 at Granite City Speedway in Sauk Rapids, Minn., with the UMSS Series.
