Inside Line Promotions – FINDLAY, Ohio (Sept. 30, 2015) – Caleb Helms is slated to compete this Saturday at Atomic Speedway with the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association.

Helms has only raced at the high-banked oval in Chillicothe, Ohio, twice this season prior to this weekend’s Freedom 40.

“It’s a really racy joint,” he said. “It’s a great shape and has a great racing surface. I like how it’s high banked and bullring shaped. It races like a small track and a big track at the same time. We’ve had some of our best races there, but this year we’ve been a little off there. Hopefully we can get that turned around on Saturday and earn a good finish.”

Helms was scheduled to race at Atomic Speedway last Saturday with the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions before Mother Nature intervened.

He did compete on Sunday at Millstream Speedway with the series.

“It wasn’t a very good night,” he said. “We didn’t qualify very well and then the nozzle line came off the motor in the heat. I felt some fuel on my elbow and forgot to say something when I got into the pits. We were focusing on how we ran and how to improve the setup. We went out for the B Main and wasn’t able to race because the motor wasn’t running right. It was sputtering and running like it was lean so we pulled in.”

Helms, who opened the night by qualifying 28th quickest, placed seventh in his heat race. He was unable to take the green flag in the B Main because of the problem.

“I take responsibility for that one,” he said. “It was just an oversight on my part. I hope we’ll have a smooth night this Saturday.”
