UMSS Practice & Tech Session Pushed Back to May 1 at SCVR
With 15" of snow last Thursday at the St. Croix Valley Raceway, track co-owner Ron Bernhagen indicated that despite the recent nice weather there is no way he will be able to get the track in condition to practice this Saturday. The Open Practice & UMSS Tech Session has been pushed back to Thursday May 1 at SCVR. There will not be any tech session at Mastell Brothers Trailer Service this Saturday. Weather permitting, the UMSS tech session for winged and traditional sprints will begin at 4:00 PM on Thursday May 1 at SCVR with open practice for all classes running from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The cost for practice is still $30 per car/driver and $10 for all others in the pits. For those that do not go into the pit area, it is free to watch.
The season opener at SCVR is now slated for Friday night May 2 with all weekly divisions plus the UMSS winged sprints on the program. Racing on May 2 is slated to start at 7:00 PM. Let's hope for some nice weather leading up to and including the first weekend in May. The UMSS winged sprints will race at the Cedar Lake Speedway on Saturday May 3, so between practice and racing, teams will have the opportunity to turn numerous laps on what should be an exciting opening weekend to kick off the 2014 racing season.
