Cedar Lake Speedway Adds Traditional Sprints To July 26 Show
Stillwater, MN
A number of Traditional sprint car drivers have expressed interest in adding a few more shows on Saturday nights throughout the season. GRP Motorsports, Cedar Lake Speedway and the UMSS came to an agreement to add the popular non-winged sprint car division to the July 26 program which also features the UMSS winged sprints. With GRP Motorsports putting up some sponsorship money for the Traditional sprints on July 26, Cedar Lake Speedway was more than willing to add them to the program. This will give both the winged and non-winged divisions a double header weekend on July 25-26, as each division will be in action on Friday night at the St. Croix Valley Raceway and then on Saturday night at the Cedar Lake Speedway.
Stated Greg Parent of GRP Motorsports, "Several Traditional sprint car drivers have talked with me during the course of the season and wondered why we don't have a few more Saturday night shows. I have listened to them, and the result is an extra Saturday show on July 26 during the Summer Sprint Special at CLS. I realize this is not a lot of time as far as advance notice is concerned, but if there are any drivers who are battling for points that have concerns about adding another race, we can discuss options this coming weekend at the races. I think most drivers will be excited to have the opportunity to add a Saturday night show."
The Traditional sprints will run for the same purse they did when they were at CLS on May 17. Bob Kaufman and his partners at the Cedar Lake Speedway are pleased to be able to add them to the July 26 show. Bob indicated, "The non-winged sprints put on a very good show at our track on May 17, and we are happy to have them back on the program with the winged sprints on July 26."
The Traditional sprints have been putting on some incredible racing this season at several different tracks, so race fans will certainly want to plan on being at the Cedar Lake Speedway on July 26. The NASCAR Late Models, Modifieds and Midwest Modifieds will also be on the program July 26 making for an action-packed evening of racing at the historic 3/8 mile western Wisconsin dirt oval.
