Pair of Top-5 finishes at Rocket Raceway Park

Tanner Mullens was back on the road with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Friday afternoon at Rocket Raceway Park (Petty, Texas) as the series kicked off the 2022 slate with a doubleheader weekend. After starting the night off with a heat race victory, Mullens advanced forward six spots in the 40-lap feature to register a fourth-place finish. He trailed Dustin Sorensen, Jason Hughes, and Rodney Sanders to the checkers with Tyler Davis coming in ffith.

On Saturday, Mullens took advantage of his front-row starting spot in his heat to claim the victory. Carrying a steady pace throughout the 50-lap $10,000-to-win A-Main, Tanner posted a fifth-place finish. He followed Tyler Davis, Jason Hughes, Rodney Sanders, and Terry Phillips across the line.
