Parker Price-Miller Picks Up Knoxville Raceway Top-5
PETERSEN MEDIA- As Mother Nature threw a wrench in all kinds of racing plans over the weekend, Parker Price-Miller made the decision to head to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night where he would record a fifth place finish.
“It is great to get a Top-Five at Knoxville especially with a deep field that was there on Saturday night,” Parker Price-Miller said. “I think we could have landed on the podium but I just made a couple mistakes.”
With 31 cars checked in at the ‘Mecca of Mud’, Price-Miller got off to a great start as he timed the Indy Race Parts/HRP Specs/Chalk Stix backed No. 71p machine in fourth fastest in qualifying time trials.
Taking the green flag from fifth in his heat race, the Kokomo, IN product would gain a couple of valuable points as his fourth place finish placed him in the second row to start the 20-lap feature event.
Settling into fourth as the race came to life, Price-Miller would go to work on the bottom of the speedway as he spent much of the race chasing after the likes of Matt Juhl and Kerry Madsen.
Looking to have enough speed to get by Juhl to take over the final spot on the podium, Price-Miller would admittedly make a couple of mistakes late trying to stick the bottom and make his move.
On the final lap of the race, Price-Miller would leave the door open for Knoxville veteran, Brooke Tatnell, and he would race on to take Doug Clark’s checkered flag in the fifth position.
“There is definitely nothing wrong with a fifth place finish at Knoxville, and it is a really good feeling to leave here knowing that we probably had a better car than our finish shows,” PPM said. “Just need to be better in the seat and good things will come. Thanks to everyone who supports our race team and makes this all possible.”
Price-Miller and his team would like to thank Indy Race Parts, HRP Specs, Chalk Stix, Howard Johnson of Lima, Maxim, Wilwood, and Keizer Wheels for their support in 2019.
BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 17, Wins: 0, Top 5’s: 4, Top-10’s: 5.
ON TAP: Parker Price-Miller will be at Eldora Speedway this weekend for a pair of races at the iconic ½ mile in Ohio.
