Inside Line Promotions – Mt. POCONO, Pa. (Oct. 4, 2022) – Joey Amantea will make his final two starts behind the wheel of a 410ci non-wing sprint car this weekend in Western Pennsylvania.

Amantea is tackling the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series doubleheader on Friday at Latrobe Speedway in Latrobe and Saturday at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial.

“It will be our debut at Latrobe, but we’ve been to Pittsburgh,” he said. “We were really good. We were second quick overall. The track was super good so it was hard to pass. We got up to fifth before a blown tire ended up dropping us to a 12th-place finish. I’m looking forward to going back and hopefully being very competitive again.”

Amantea has taken a step forward in his non-wing sprint car competitiveness this season, earning his first 360ci win and several stout 410 results while racing with the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars as well as a top 10 during his Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series debut.

“I’m just glad to get more laps in the 410,” he said. “Running with the USAC guys was huge for me with just learning. Taking what I learned and running with BOSS, how competitive we were at both shows, I honestly feel we can win this weekend. Judging how fast we were the last time, it was about track position, but our times were better than the leader. We should have a shot to win if we can put all the pieces together.”

After this weekend Amantea has four Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars races remaining on the schedule.

“The remainder of the year with USAC East Coast we want to win every single time we get on the track,” he said. “That’s the goal is to go win or at least podium. We’re hoping to get another win before the end of the year and end on a strong note.”
