As we near the halfway point of the 2012 KWS season the “KWS Tonight” crew will be back on the air this evening to present a full recap of last week’s Memorial Day weekend double-header at the famed Calistoga Speedway, as well as showcasing interviews with Andy Gregg, Willie Croft, Tim Kaeding and much more.
To view the show log onto http://www.kwssprints.com starting at 7pm pst on Thursday. It will then replay on the homepage to watch at your leisurely pleasure over the next week. You can also see the show directly on the “KWS Tonight” Vimeo page at http://vimeo.com/user10076991
Andy Gregg capped last weekend with a runner up finish on Sunday night at the Calistoga Speedway and we’ll speak with him about the strong effort. The Placerville competitor also moved up to sixth in the KWS standings and we will get his thoughts on that, along with much more, including what his favorite animal is that’s part of his personal petting zoo.
This past week also saw Willie Croft put together his best weekend of the season with the Cancen Oil KWS Series presented by Goodyear. “Double Down” scored a pair of third place finishes in Calistoga and we’ll get some words with him about how much of a confidence booster the weekend as a whole was. Croft ranks ninth in points going into Hanford this Saturday.
Tim Kaeding put on a thrilling show Saturday night in Calistoga to win the main event from 16th starting, but suffered through a hard crash on Sunday evening. We’ll get an update from him as he prepares for the “Pombo/Sargent Classic” this weekend.
With Kings Speedway on tap Saturday night we will preview the “Pombo/Sargent Classic” as it returns home to Hanford. We’ll also continue to look towards next week’s events at the Silver Dollar Speedway & Southern Oregon Speedway. The “Road to Dirt Cup” races as previously mentioned will include special entrants Jimmy Sills & Shane Stewart.
Finally we will have a sneak preview of the June 29 event at Merced Speedway and talk more about the big thee-day championship banquet weekend at the Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort on November 9, 10 & 11. Make your reservations now for the fan night/press party on Friday Nov. 9 and the Kings Banquet on Saturday Nov. 10 by contacting (707) 374-2222. Saturday will also feature a car show and toy drive.
Remember if you purchase a ticket for either Friday’s fan night or the Kings Banquet you will get your name into a drawing to win a day in a sprint car at the “On Track Motivational Center” in Rio Vista. The three-day weekend is being put on with the fans in mind and we look forward to seeing everybody at Jackson Rancheria on November 9, 10 & 11.
