Orange Pride with EKeys-4-Cars

The Pelham, NH based Bruce Bernhardt lead Team have warmed their winter blues with the announcement of longtime friend and supporter Jim Boradhurst with EKeys-4Cars will once again return to the sides of the 27NH machine full time for the 2017 season.

The car key experts, Ekeys-4Cars is the leader in transponder based electronic keys in Northern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. The North Andover, MA based facility has been supporter of the team for almost a decade now. While taking an associate sponsor role a year ago the Team is excited to announce Jim has come on board as primary sponsor for the upcoming season.

The car key company has become as much a part of the Team as the owner and driver has over the years; adorning the sides of the of both the American Canadian Tour and Super Late Model cars for just about every milestone accomplishment since 2008. No bigger than being a part of the Dover, NH drivers career victory, the 2016 Oxford 250.

“I said it after the race,” stated Helliwell “Jim is directly responsible for getting us to that win. It was his money we tested with a half-dozen times at Oxford leading up to the race in 2015. So really it won’t be the same without his help. Without him we may have stopped racing years ago… We’re excited that he wanted to come on board again.”

Welcoming Ekeys-4-Cars back will also welcome back the iconic bright orange paint scheme Helliwell and the Bernhardt have become so synonymous for. While much of 2016 brought a new design to the car, having the car orange again is perfectly fine with owner Bruce Bernhardt.

“I’m a simple guy, I like simple graphics like that,” he stated. “I know people are into all those flashy looking designs but that’s not me. Its back to the color it should be… Changing it sure caused a uproar, we got hate mail about it not being orange; so now its back.”

The Team will pilot their familiar scheme to a straight up outlaw schedule in 2017. With plans to compete in select Super Late Model shows around New England and head South some. There is no set schedule at this time.

“We’ll run some North and South Super Late Model shows,” stated Helliwell. “ Right now the only thing for sure is we will defend the [Oxford] 250 title and run the PASS [Pro All Stars Series] show at Thunder Road. But we plan to hit roughly 12-15 events. The days of competing for points are long gone for us, we’ve done it enough. We’re looking forward to just competing at our own pace.”

Competing in 2017 may be behind the wheel of a new self-design Chassis for Helliwell. “ We have some things in the works,” he stated. “ We tested in November and plan to put some new ideas to metal for next year.”

Stay tuned for an update of the Teams first race of 2017.
