“Midget doubleheader at Sycamore & Angell Park" "72nd season Opening Night @ Angell Park Speedway-Sunday"

Sun Prairie, WI May 31---A weekend doubleheader awaits The Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie Badger Midget Racing Series, at Sycamore (Ill.) Speedway on Saturday Night June 2 before returning to Angell Park Speedway the following evening June 3. Both events will be co-sanctioned with the POWRi Lucas Oil Regional Midget Series.

Saturday's event at Sycamore will also feature Super Late Models, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Hornets. Scott Hatton won the most recent series event, last Saturday at the track finishing ahead of: Tyler Baran, Ryan Probst, Kurt Mahew, and Alex Watson. Baran holds a twenty-point lead over Hatton entering the weekends events.

"The 84 Lumber Meet the Drivers & Cars Session", an opportunity for fans to meet the drivers and get an up-close look at the midget race cars, will take place at the main grandstand outside the entrance gate from 5-6 pm. General admission gates open at: 6 pm, qualifying begins at 6:30 pm with races to follow.

The 72nd season of racing at Angell Park Speedway, kickoffs the following evening. The event is the first of the nine-race this season at the popular 1/3-mile clay oval. “The Salute to Fallen Service Members” will also feature the Badger 600 Micro Series, MSA Sprint Car Series, and the Wisconsin Legend Dirt Racing Series.

Grandstand seating opens at 3:30 pm; practice at 5:30 pm, with racing to follow practice. The "Badger drivers meet & greet", opportunity for fans to meet the drivers before the evenings events will take place at the Badger Souvenir trailer at 5:00 pm behind the grandstand. The BMARA Fan Club/Kids Club will be giving away two bicycles at every race this season.

Billy Wood and Kevin Olson each have five Angell Park Speedway (APS) opening night feature victories to lead all drivers. The list includes a dozen multiple winners. Olson is currently fourth in Badger points and will compete in Sunday’s event.
