Bryan Hulbert – BELGRADE, Mont. (July 4, 2018) While the Fred Brownfield classic may not have gone the way Blake Hahn had planned, the Griffith Truck and Equipment/Lucas Oil No. 52 team are shaking off the rough outing and looking forward to the third annual Grizzly Nationals at Gallatin Speedway on Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7.

“Grays Harbor has always been a tough track for us for some reason, but we’ll be back next year. Right now, I’m really excited to get back to Montana and race in Belgrade. That’s a fun track and the fans are phenomenal,” commented Hahn.

A pair of 12th place finishes earned after having to race through a B-Feature each night at Grays Harbor, it was little things that made the weekend a little tougher.

“It was just one of those weekends where it was never anything big that hurt us, it was a bunch of little things,” stated Blake.

“We drew fast Heats and that made it tough to move forward so that put us in B-Features both nights. Friday in the feature the car felt good, just had some trouble getting through traffic. Saturday, we had a tie-rod bolt fail so that sent us to the work area early, but the track was really good and I was able to move around and find the line before a lot of the guys in front of me until our nose wing mounts broke on the back of the wing. Once it laid down, that put us in a rut, but it is what it is.”

Asked what it would mean to win the Grizzly Nationals again, Hahn stated, “It wasn’t the highest paying win of my career, but it is the coolest. Having Adam in Victory Lane, it’s such a unique experience of knowing that a 1,000lbs Grizzly Bear is drooling all over your right rear. The first year we won, people thought it was a prop until they saw the video so that made the whole thing even better when they realized what was really happening.”

Presented by the area NAPA Auto Supply Stores of Montana, the 3rd annual Grizzly Nationals open each night at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (MDT).

The 2018 season is Blake Hahn’s 16th year of racing. Starting in Jr. Sprints at the Tulsa Shootout, Hahn has progressed through the ranks with over 90 victories across Micros, Midgets, and Sprint Cars.
