Hahn Looking to Regain Momentum Following Knoxville 360 Nationals

SAPULPA, Okla. (August 18, 2015) While the Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals did not go the way Blake Hahn had hoped, the driver of the Lucas Oil / CSR Garage No. 52 is set to return to competition this week with three nights of racing across Oklahoma and Missouri.
Summarizing his 360 Nationals, Hahn noted his frustration, “We had a great car. It’s just frustrating that a five dollar part ended our entire weekend. We went back to the engine we’d been running just to salvage points on Saturday, but being stuck in the E-Main, the track was too narrow to try an pass on at that point but I can’t thank everyone as Wesmar enough for getting our engine done for the Nationals. We’ve been lacking the power to run on bigger tracks like Knoxville and that one had it.”
Looking to the coming week, Hahn will be back on track with races across multiple disciplines, as he joins up with the USAC Southwest Freedom Tour at the Lawton Speedway on Wednesday, August 19 and Creek County Speedway on Thursday, August 20 before rejoining to the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Sunday, August 23 at the Missouri State Fair Speedway with the $12,000 to win Casey’s General Store High Roller Classic.
“I love non-wing racing, and this is about the only time a year I get to race without the wing, plus with the races being close to home, it makes it a lot of fun to have my friends and family at the tracks.”
Taking time to prepare for the coming topless events, Hahn made laps at the Creek County Speedway this past Saturday. Asked how he felt in the car, Hahn replied, “I felt good. The car was a little snug when we hot lapped it because we didn’t have the right rear out far enough, but otherwise the car was fast.”
In addition to his lineup of wing and non-wing racing this week, Hahn will also be behind the wheel of a POWRi West Midget Thursday night at the Creek County Speedway.
“Thursday’s going to busy, but I’m excited. About the only time I get to race a Midget is at the Tulsa Shootout and the Chili Bowl, so it’ll be nice to get some laps. I need to thank Ted Finkenbinder for letting me race his car. He has good equipment, so hopefully we can run up front.”
