POWRi MIDGETS SPENDING LABOR DAY AT LAKE OZARK DOUBLEHEADER

BELLEVILLE, ILL. (August 26, 2019) – Labor Day at ‘The Lake’ is a longstanding tradition cherished by American’s nationwide; even the POWRi Lucas Oil National / West Midget League. Scheduled for a doubleheader not far from Missouri’s majestic Lake of the Ozarks, racers and fans will swarm the area this Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1 for back-to-back nights at Lake Ozark Speedway.

Marking only the fourth and fifth races in POWRi National Midget League history at the Eldon, Mo. 1/3rd-mile, competitors are still adapting with each night at the circuit, which is relatively new to the campaign.

After all, it was Labor Day weekend last year when the POWRi Midgets encountered Lake Ozark for the first time in league history. Dominated by the Keith Kunz-Curb Agajanian Motorsports group, both features saw a podium sweep from the same three drivers.

Logan Seavey of Sutter, Calif., the 2017 POWRi National Midget champ, topped the first-ever feature ahead of teammates Tucker Klaasmeyer and Tanner Carrick. On night two, Klaasmeyer of Paola, Kans., the eventual 2018 titleist, beat Seavey and Carrick to the line.

Seavey, who has been dominant in 2019 with seven victories in 13 appearances, struck for his second Lake Ozark Speedway win earlier this season when the league visited in May. Outlasting Zach Daum and Jesse Colwell, Seavey became the first multi-time POWRi Midget winner in the league’s young history at Lake Ozark.

Coming off a two-day weekend in Illinois, Clauson-Marshall Racing ruled the most recent POWRi National Midget events with Zeb Wise winning at Fairbury American Legion Speedway (August 15) and Tyler Courtney topping Lincoln Speedway (August 16), each for their second-career victories.

With 13 races remaining, Jesse Colwell of Red Bluff, Calif. continues to the lead the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League standings ahead of Zach Daum (-290), Jake Neuman (-590), Holley Hollan (-770) and Ace McCarthy (-850).

In the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League, Andrew Felker of Carl Junction, Mo. continues to hold a massive lead in the standings aboard his Chad Shields Racing, Ripper/Fontana No. 44S. Leading into this weekend, he’s ahead of Hank Davis (-1,550 PTS), Chance Morton (-2,170 PTS), Blake Edwards (-3,350 PTS) and Kade Morton (3,510 PTS).

Both Saturday and Sunday at Lake Ozark, the gates will open at 5:00pm with racing hitting the track at 7:30pm. On Saturday, adult admission is $20, senior & military are $17, children 7-13 are $5, kids six & under are FREE. On Sunday, adult admission is $23, senior & military are3 $20, children 7-13 are $5, kids six & under are FREE. Pit passes are $40 both nights.
