By Trenton Berry (Wheatland, MO) -- Lucas Oil MLRA Officials are pleased to announce the addition of Billy Rock to the series. Rock will fill the position of series announcer and publicist. "Billy will be a great addition to our events this coming season," said Series Director Ernie Leftwich. "Billy is Late Models through and through and has done a great job at his home track previously. We're proud to have him on the road with us!"

In addition to the track duties Billy has also been a part of the "Pit Side Live" on KSCI FM radio in Red Oak, Iowa. The show airs on race day at Adams County Speedway for an hour and a half prior to the races starting.

Billy's work at the Corning, Iowa half-mile began as an infield pit reporter, just shortly after RacinBoys.com Co-Owner Kirk Elliott, one of the region's most highly regarded motorsports voices, had moved on from the broadcast team in Corning. Elliott has always been impressed with Rock's ability.

"As a former Adams County Speedway announcer, I'm very proud to see Billy Rock get this huge opportunity to be the voice of the Lucas Oil MLRA Series," said Elliott. "He has big shoes to fill after the great job Trenton Berry did for so many years, but I know Billy has the knowledge and experience to carry forward the great MLRA tradition of keeping fans informed and entertained."

For Billy racing has been in his blood since he was a little kid. Growing up he spent a lot of time with his uncle and cousin going to the track. His cousin raced Late Models, so the division has always been special to him.

His path to the microphone came after he decided to vacate the driver's seat. From 2000 to 2006 he was behind the wheel of a stock car. Citing the rising cost and wanting to save money, Billy took a small break, which is now heading into year 12.

The Clarenda, Iowa native graduated from Iowa Western with an Associate's Degree and then went to Northwest Missouri State University to finish his Bachelor's.

"I'm really just excited for the opportunity and thankful to the staff for this chance, " commented Rock. "I'm looking forward to seeing some new places and watching awesome Late Model racing this year!"
