Friday night the United Racing Club visited the Williams Grove Speedway for the 5th time this season. With mother nature claiming the first visit and Greg Hodnett claiming the next 4 races, we were in for a new 2016 winner at the 1/2 mile facility with Hodnett off competing at the Knoxville Nationals.

With 25 cars in the pits, they were divided into 3 heat races with the top 6 automatically transferring into the A-Main event paying $2,000 to win thanks to nightly sponsor Quality Auto Body. Heat race wins went to Robbie Stillwaggon aboard the Quality Auto Body #89, Chuck "Cobra" Hebing aboard the Wilkins Recreational Vehicles, Northcoast Performance #45 and Chris Coyle aboard the Fred's Trailer Parts Center #56. This was Coyle's first URC Heat Race win of the year since stepping into the potent #56 seat. A B-Main was not needed when the 17j of newly married Jonathan Swanson scratched for the night.

When heat race #1 winner Robbie Stillwaggon drew the "6" pill, the front row was set with United Racing Club rookie Justin Whittall driving the family owned Pioneer Auto Body, World Wide Bearings #67w and Jason Shultz in the Weather Proofing #29 car. At the drop of the green, Whittall jumped out to a quick lead over the 29 of Shultz and the 28f of Davie Franek. Mark Smith brought out the nights first caution on lap 2 after making contact with the turn 2 inside wall. The contact ended Smith's night who would have been considered one of the favorites to win the nights feature event.

On the restart, Whittall again jumped out to the lead this time the 15 yr old rookie was challenged by the 2014 URC Champion Davie Franek entering into turn 3, Franek briefly took command of the lead before Whittall crossed over the 28f and retook the lead before a lap 3 caution was shown for a slowing Chris Coyle on the front stretch. Coyle refired and joined the back of the field for a restart.

By lap 10, Whittall was still in command with Franek running 2nd, Schultz 3rd, Chuck Hebing 4th and the top 5 rounded out by the 1w of Eric Tomecek. Franek finally took control of the top spot during lap 13. Once again Whittall went at Franek with no fear and went wheel to wheel with the current points leader. Franek finally took complete control of the lead by lap 13th. Franek lead the remaining laps earning his 5th United Racing Club win of the season and strengthening his points lead over 2nd place Robbie Stillwaggon.

The United Racing Club will be back in action on Saturday night when the head to Susquehanna Speedway for the first time in 2016. After Saturday night the Club will head to the big 5/8 mile Bridgeport Speedway on Tuesday night.
