First Time in the First State! Dallas Schott Scores First Career URC Sprint Car Win at Delaware International
You'll always remember your first win. After 3 years touring with URC Dallas Schott picked up his first career win with the Club at Delaware International.
"It's about damn time." As the Myerstown, PA driver stood in victory lane for the first time. Schotts clean sweep of the night started with a heat win that would get him in the redraw and draw the pole. Schott would lead the first 9 laps till the first yellow of the feature flew as Brandon McGough made contact with the wall in turns 3 and 4 to draw the caution.
The following restart saw the field try to fight for the bottom and contact was made between Schott and 2nd place running Adam Carberry. Carberry then spun collecting Josh Weller, Ryan and Robbie Stillwaggon and Troy Betts in the mayhap. " Suck I got in to Adam on the restart there. Didn't mean to do that but when there's one lane you gotta fight for it." Schott said about the incident.
The next restart saw Georgetown's Steve Downs get in the inside wall at turn 1 and go over. He was uninjured, driving the 2nd Craig Pellegrini 27 . This allowed Josh Weller to complete repair and rejoin the field. On the ensuing restart, Jason Shultz got around Andy Best for 2nd.
The final yellow would come out with 7 laps left as Craig Pellegrini would come to a stop off of turn 4. One last double file restart for Shultz to get around Schott but Schott pulled away to see the checker flag for the first time in his young racing career.
The United Racing Club is back in action on Friday June 24th at the Big Diamond Speedway for the Club's first trip to the Skook in 2022.
