Sixth-place finish in Tennessee Tip-Off at Smoky Mountain

Saturday night saw Dale McDowell return to action at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, TN) for the event co-sanctioned by the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series and the Ultimate Southeast Series. With 37 Late Models entered for the Tennessee Tip-Off Classic, Dale laid down the eighth-fastest time in his qualifying group before placing third in his heat. Starting the $12,000-to-win A-Main in 11th, McDowell improved five spots in the 60-lap affair to register a sixth-place finish.
