Labor Day Weekend 2021 Tire Rules

St Cloud, MN (September 2, 2021) - As the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series heads into the championship weekend, there have been many meeting surrounding the current tire rules in place for Halvor Lines Speedway and the remaining events for the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series.

"The situation continues to evolve," said Carson Gramm, WISSOTA Executive Director. "We hate waiting to do this stuff until the last minute, but the current state of the supply changes by the day. The communication with Hoosier has been fantastic as they update us on the shipments and production. It is because of the ever changing supply chain that we must do the following for this weekend and the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series events at Halvor Lines Speedway, Grand Rapids Speedway, and Hibbing Raceway."

The right rear tire rule at Halvor Lines Speedway posted and emailed on Monday, August 30 will remain in place for the event tonight (September 2). The remaining events for the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series championship weekend will allow for a LM40 option on the right rear.

If a driver chooses to use a LM40 on the right rear they must follow the rules of the LM40. They may groove and sipe but may not needle or condition or treat any tires.

If a driver chooses to use a W30 on the right rear they must follow all current rules for the W30 posted at www.wissota.org/rules.

The reason for allowing an option at the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend is to use up the tire from Thursday if the driver chooses. Also, WISSOTA officials just received word that there is a limited number of tires available after the latest shipment which is to be received in Rogers, MN by tomorrow morning.
