After an eventful week and an exciting night of racing, we had a great showing at Ventura Raceway for the USAC CRA Sprint Car Series race in the #12B Jim Blakesley Racing / Don Blair Special which saw me going out first for qualifying and we timed in 8th quick. This would line us up to start 4th for the heat race. Made a mistake on the start, but was able to recover have some great battling and finish 7th. Starting 9th in the main event and within the first 3 laps was able to work my way up to 7th place right in the lead pack. However, following a caution where I stopped to avoid a wreck in turn one I was put to the back of the pack. Restarting 22nd meant I had my work cut out for me and after losing brakes on lap 12 I had to adjust my line to finish off the 30 lapper in p17. 17th may not show it but it was a great night.
Next race is at Bakersfield Speedway 5/11/2019. I have never raced a sprint car there but I am looking forward to carrying this new found momentum with me as we give our best.
