Brady Bacon Wins LOS Non-Wing Nationals in POWRi WAR/Xtreme Outlaw Feature

Belleville, IL. (6/11/22) Brady Bacon would find the fastest line in the Lake Ozark Speedway Non-Wing Nationals feature event with the Lucas Oil POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint League running in conjunction with the Xtreme Outlaw Sprint Series presented by Low-E Insulation, notching their ninth career WAR win in the white-knuckle twenty-five lap main event.

Flying onto the tight-cornered track with twenty-eight competitors entered CJ Leary would clock top-time with 13.758-lap as heat racing action would witness Alex Bright, Jake Swanson, Robert Ballou, and Matt Westfall each earn an early competition victory with Jack Wagner earning the semi-feature win.

Rocketing into the initial green flag start would see high point qualifier and pole-sitter Robert Ballou battle outside front-row companion Jake Swanson into the first pair of corners as Ballou would gain the early racing advantage to lead early.

Finding speed in the early stages would see Robert Ballou lead Jake Swanson, Matt Westfall, Mario Clouser, and Brady Bacon to round out the opening top five with drivers slicing and dicing through the field.

Sliding for the lead after a lap-five restart, Jake Swanson would take the lead from Ballou in turns three and four with Westfall and Bacon behind the leading pair. Making moves mid-way through the feature would see CJ Leary, Kory Schudy, and Xavier Doney closing into the top-seven runners.

Halfway through the feature would Swanson leading a battling Brady Bacon and Robert Ballou inside the top-three as Bacon stayed on the inside line to take the lead on lap fifteen.

Low-line running would witness Brady Bacon out front with Swanson and Ballou following behind, CJ Leary would find top-shelf to his liking by moving into the runner-up position as Jake Swanson and Robert Ballou would get into each other entering turn-one with words discussed on-track after the racing incident.

Restarting with seven laps remaining with Brady Bacon setting the pace out front, CJ Leary would once again hang to the high side with Matt Westfall, Kory Schudy, and Jack Wagner rounding out the top-five running order.

Leading the final revolutions, Bacon would hold on to grab the feature victory as Westfall and Leary battled to the very end for the runner-up spot with Matt Westfall grabbing the position leaving Leary third.

“We were really looking forward to getting in here and running this race, now we get to climb in the wing car and see if we can’t claim this bonus money,” said a happy Brady Bacon in the Lake Ozark Speedway Victory Lane.

Shane Cockrum would emerge late to finish fourth with Alex Bright rounding out the top-five finishers for the Lucas Oil POWRi WAR Sprint League in conjunction with the Xtreme Outlaw Sprint Series presented by Low-E Insulation in the LOS 410 Nationals: Non-Wing portion feature event.
