Inside Line Promotions – MANSFIELD, Ohio (May 3, 2018) – Chris Andrews left the Sprint Car World Championship last weekend at Mansfield Motor Speedway scratching his head. However, he and the Burmeister Racing team are excited for this weekend when they will get back to familiar tracks.

“Honestly, we don’t run the bigger tracks enough to have a handle on setups,” Andrews said. “We just didn’t get the car where I was comfortable all weekend.”

The Sprint Car World Championship began on Friday with Andrews qualifying 40th out of 72 cars, which narrowly missed the heat race inversion. He finished eighth in a heat race and seventh in a B Main to cap the night.

Andrews wrapped up the event on Saturday by placing eighth in both a heat race and a B Main.

“We found some things with the car from a few weeks ago that didn’t really show up the last time we raced,” he said. “Thankfully we got them fixed so I’m pumped to get back to our home tracks this weekend.”

Andrews will compete in the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads FAST 410 Championship Series presented by Ohio Logistics event this Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio. He is the defending track champion and is currently seventh in the track’s championship standings after one regular season event and an Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions race.

“We hurt a motor two weeks ago at Attica for the All Star race,” he said. “We were consistently good there last year.”

The Burmeister team will head to Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, on Saturday for another FAST Series race. Andrews is currently leading the points at Fremont Speedway thanks to setting quick time during qualifying and posting a runner-up result during the feature on opening night two weeks ago.

“It was a little surprising how good we were at Fremont on a slick track,” he said. “Usually we struggle when the track gets like that, but we ran consistently in the top five the whole feature. We’re second in FAST points so this is a big weekend.

“I have some changes I want to make to the car after Mikey (Sommers, the crew chief) and I talked and I’m excited to see how it unfolds.”
