Crossville Victory Highlights Strong Weekend For Blake Hahn In ASCS Competition

SAPULPA, Okla. (August 28, 2017) Working a trio of nights across Arkansas and Tennessee in ASCS National and ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprints competition, Blake Hahn put an exclamation point on the weekend with his third win of the season coming at Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tenn. on Friday night.

Along with a sixth place showing on Thursday at Riverside International Speedway, and a runner-up at Smoky Mountain Speedway, the weekend is proof that the Griffith Truck and Equipment No. 52 team is moving in the right direction.

“We’ve been struggling a little bit lately to find balance in the car, but this weekend it was there and it felt great,” commented Hahn. “We tried a few things at The Ditch and the car seemed to respond pretty well. That track is always fun, but we just got stuck trying to get through traffic.”

Making minor adjustments for Friday night, Hahn worked past Harli White with two laps to go to pick up his first Lucas Oil ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprint victory at Crossville Speedway.

“The start was everything at Crossville. We knew the track was going to get narrow, so you had to act quickly, but even once it started going to the center, you could cheat it and make the pass stick. We showed that on the restart where we almost got the lead the first time after Harli got tangled with the lapped car. There at the end, she was really having to throw the car and that opened the door for us, but she drove a heck of a race.”

On to Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday, the low line was the right line for Hahn.

“The bottom was a little too wet during the Heats, but once we got out there for the Feature, it was pretty much perfect and once I got down there, I just focused on hitting my marks and making clean laps.”

Looking ahead to Labor Day Weekend, Hahn will travel to the Jackson Motorplex with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Friday, September 1 and Saturday, September 2. The results out of Jackson will determine if the team races anywhere else on Sunday.
