MULLENS CAPTURES NCRA MODIFIED TITLE

Mullens Claims Season NCRA Modified Finale and Championship!

Park City, Kansas – October 20, 2018 - Tanner Mullens of Wichita, Kansas put a bow on an incredible season on the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified trail as he claimed his eighth series victory of the season Saturday night at 81 Speedway in Park City.
Mullens came into the night with a slim 15-point lead over season-long points leader Cody Schniepp as both were seeking their first-career series championship. Mullens was set out on a mission and jumped into the lead from his outside front row starting position to take yet another series victory and wrap up the season championship.
Schnieep started fifth but wound up with a disappointing fourteenth place finish.
Former three-time series champion Dan Powers has had a struggling season on the tour, going winless for the first time since the 2013 race season. It looked to be yet another struggling night as Powers would finish a disappointing eighth in his heat race, then having to start near the back of the “B” feature where he came home seventh. From his seventeenth starting position in the series championship finale, Powers worked his way up to a strong runner-up finish and would over-take Tyler Davis for third in the final point standings.
Mullens, whose eight feature victories in one season is the most in the series modified division since Brian Franz accomplished feat, will be officially crowned champion at the series year-end banquet at the end of January. Date and details will be announced soon.
