Stanley Kreisel Celebrates POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints Season Championship

Belleville, IL. (10/06/2020) Witnessing seven separate feature winners this racing season, the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprints would see a trend of variation up front set the tone over throughout their seventeen various race dates. Visiting six different tracks offering plenty of parity for drivers to test their talents and with the final points tallied on the season, series power-house Stanley Kreisel would earn his first POWRi MLS championship.

Winning the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprints season championship by a slim margin of just one-hundred-two points, #18 Stanley Kreisel, of Warsaw Missouri, touted a series-leading eight feature victories in 2020. Now leading the win column for career victories since POWRi sanctioning in 2019 with nine feature wins, Kreisel now sets his sights on a repeat performance or perhaps aiming for even more successes in 2021 and beyond.

Keeping pace with the front-running Kreisel all season would see open-wheel talent, and Mason City Illinois resident, #11 Brandon Smith would notch a feature victory of his own in the shortened season, as well as placing inside the top-five routinely. Smith would quickly earn a solid reputation among his peers for a clean driving style and pleasure in the pits that is always willing to lend a hand, moving forward the future looks bright for this up-and-coming talent that logged the runner-up positioning this season standings.

Staying on the trend of talented top-notch competitors, Missouri’s #22 Chase Fischer would make a valiant charge through the season standings this season. Ultimately rounding out the podium finishers in the season championship, Fischer would fight for three victories this year as well as always seeming to be among the front when it mattered most. If Fischer decides to chase a title next season, he will be among those heavy favorites going into next year.

With the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lighting Sprints season concluded on another successful season in a challenging 2020, MLS would like to thank the owners, drivers, fans, and officers for their continual support. Next year is already in the works with some added races and new tracks. Further details about the awards ceremony will be released upon finalization, stay tuned to Facebook for updates.
