POWRi Sanctions Central States Midget Series for 2021 Racing

Belleville, IL. (04/06/2021) The storied history of the Kansas City Midget Racing scene dates back over eighty-five years as top open-wheel talents hone their skills on the local dirt tracks. With the last decade consisting of outstanding occasional area venue visits and excellent National touring stops, local midget drivers will now gain their own regional series with the formation of the new POWRi Central States Midget Series, kicking off in the 2021 racing season.

Organized by Veteran Driver, and Chief Supporter of Kansas City area midget racing, Chad Frewaldt, the POWRi Central States Midget Series will consist of a ten-race schedule visiting five top-notch racing facilities around the ‘Heart of America’. Frewaldt would say “There are several cars in the area and we’re working on getting those drivers and cars back out to the tracks.” Adding, “We’re wanting to form a working-man’s series with a spotlight on local racing to support our regional sponsors on a more regular basis”.

Kansas City Midget competitors will now have the chance to race on several various track surfaces and sizes throughout the area as the inaugural season will see visits ranging from a single stopover at the sweeping half-mile of Lakeside Speedway to the four events at the tight-cornered bullring of KC Raceway. With Old 71 Speedway and I-35 Speedway both racing a single time, as well as the home for midgets over the past few years at Valley Speedway for three highly anticipated races.

“Without Ray Boyles and Dennis Shrout there wouldn’t be a growing midget racing group locally, we’re wanting to continue what they started with a POWRi sanctioning as a way to give back to the drivers that want to race but have limits on their travels and budgets,” said series director Frewaldt.

The POWRi Central States Midget Series membership forms can be found online at http://www.powri.com/downloads/get.aspx?i=617373. A driver registration fee of $100, which supplies the $100,000 secondary insurance policy, for the season for each participating driver and is a requirement for all participants in the POWRi Racing League.
