POWRi National Lightning Sprint Division | May 2

Belleville, IL. (5/2/22) Witnessing a pair of premier POWRi Lighting Sprint events scheduled for competition over the weekend, the Midwest and the Southwest Divisions would attempt to continue the National Points chase as the quest to become the Inaugural champion begins to heat up with excitement in the early season with Grant Sexton winning in California as rain would halt racing in Missouri.

Currently within the POWRi Lightning Sprint National Point Championship Braden Chiaramonte has a slight advantage heading into the third month of sanctioned competition over early divisional leader Dalton Sexton and series patriarch Brent Sexton with all drivers presently inside the top-ten in season standings representing the POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprint Series.
POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints would suffer a rainout at Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday, April 30.

Action from the POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints would travel to their home venue of Barona Speedway on Saturday, April 30th with 30th with Grant Sexton gaining his eighth career series feature victory in the past three seasons. Last week’s winner and series point leader going into the event Braden Chiaramonte would valiantly finish in the runner-up position with Jeremy Queener continuing to impress finishing third. Brent Sexton and son Dalton Sexton would swap positions several times late in the event with Brent finishing fourth, leaving Dalton to round out the Barona Speedway top-five finishers for the POWRi SWLS. Grant Sexton, Parker Dumas, and Dalton Sexton would each win their heat race action with Brent Sexton earning the feature’s hard charger award by passing six other competitors.
