Alex Truscinski Triumphs in Inaugural POWRi Lightning Sprint National Championship
Belleville, IL. (11/01/22) Finalizing the grueling and dedicated seasonal stretch of competition while crowning the first-of-a-kind champion, the POWRi Lightning Sprint Division would witness the rise of talents to the national level with Alex Truscinski of Greenbush Minnesota becoming the star of the north and drive away with the inaugural title.
“This championship is an awesome accomplishment and is definitely at the top of my career highlights without a doubt. I don't think it will ever happen again, I had a goal of 10 wins this year and I thought that was crazy but I somehow reached that and then some it was definitely one for the books” said the title-clinching Alex Truscinski.
Clinching the first-ever National Championship honor while representing the POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Series presented by Olsen Underground in a dominating fashion, Alex Truscinski(MKLS) would win the championship by a one-hundred-eighty point difference over his father Alan Truscinski(MKLS) in second, Dexter Dvergsten(MKLS) finishing third with Kelsi Pederson(MKLS) fourth and Chris Crowder(ALL).
“It’s even more cool my dad came in second, being able to celebrate a 1-2 finish is awesome. We were sitting at the supper table and I noticed the final standings and gave the phone to my dad. I said, “read this one old man” he slowly read it and you could see the grin gradually grow on his face! The amount of time my dad puts in behind the scenes during the week is second to none and he is one of the driving forces behind the team, with that being said he is just as much a winner.”
Driving the Altoz Precision Mowers, Engler Machine and Tool, #10 Truscinski would acquire an astonishing fifteen wins on the season as well as boasting consistency with top-five finishes in every single one of his thirty-three seasonal starts. Stating, “My plans for the future of racing are unknown. I have been competitive in a lightning sprint over the last 5 years and really would like to race other forms. As for lightning sprint racing itself, you will definitely see me in a lightning sprint in 2023 and who knows, maybe go for another championship. Only the future will tell”.
Alex Truscinski, among other POWRi Champions, will be honored at the Annual POWRi Championship Banquet on Saturday, January 21 at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri.
