Karter Sarff Claims Night One with POWRi National Midgets and Xtreme at I-55 Raceway
Pevely, MO. (8/1/25) Karter Sarff would only need one lap at Federated Auto Parts I-55 Raceway to earn his tenth career feature win with the POWRi National Midget League, running in conjunction with Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota, on Friday night after advancing four spots to clinch checkers in the ‘Prelude to the Ironman’.
Early on-track excitement with twenty-seven entries to the POWRi National Midgets, running in conjunction with Xtreme Outlaw Midgets, would find Zach Wigal start the action off with a quick-time in group hot-lap qualifying with a time of 12.857 seconds as Joe B Miller, Cannon McIntosh, and Kameron Key would each notch heat racing victories.
Setting the feature field would find the high-point qualifier Jacob Denney roll an invert of four to set Chase McDermand and Cannon McIntosh on the front row, leading the field as the green flag flew, with McDermand gaining the initial advantage on the opening lap as the field battled throughout the pack.
Holding steady out front with continual challenges for the lead for twenty-four laps, Chase McDermand would appear to be well on the way to the feature win as final lap contact off turn four would leave the door open for the win.
Capitalizing on being in the right spot at the right time, third-running Karter Sarff would use low line momentum to gain his third seasonal victory with Jacob Denney moving into the runner-up spot as Cannon McIntosh recovered to finalize the podium placements in a hard-fought feature.
Flying through the field would find Joe B Miller finish fourth with Kameron Key rounding out the POWRi National Midget League, running in conjunction with the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota, top-five finishers at Federated Auto Parts I-55 Raceway in the ‘Prelude to the Ironman’ on Friday.
