2016 POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series Schedule Released

Millstadt, IL – The POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series schedule has been released, featuring 29 events on the docket list for 2016. Starting out for the season opener on Friday, April 22nd at Jacksonville Speedway and ending on Saturday, October 1st at Belle-Clair Speedway for the Charlene Meents Memorial, the 2016 season contains plenty of action.

Returning to many of the typical venues raced at in 2015, the Micro Series will head to the favorites of Macon Speedway, Belle-Clair Speedway, and Southern Illinois Raceway, just to name a few. Belle-Clair Speedway and Macon Speedway will make up over half the schedule with 16 events between the two tracks.

New to the Micro Series for 2016, the Champaign County Fairgrounds in Champaign, Illinois will host a special fair race event for the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series on the opening night of the Champaign County Fair, Friday, July 22nd. The POWRi Division II Midgets are also slated to be at the Champaign County Fairgrounds with the Micro Series. Also newly added, the 600 World Championships will fall under POWRi sanction in 2016. Heading to Little Rock, Arkansas, the Micro Series will invade I-30 Speedway on September 14th-17th. Wednesday, September 14th will be a night of open practice, with Thursday and Friday being qualifying nights locking in the top three out of each night for Saturday’s $10,000-to-WIN show. Another newly added event also includes the two day show at Belle-Clair Speedway on Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 27th and Saturday, May 28th.

For the fifth year, the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series will be a part of the Illinois SPEED Week, but instead of the typical four days of racing, a fifth day will be added for 2016. Starting off Illinois SPEED Week at Belle-Clair Speedway on Wednesday, June 8th, the series will then head to Quincy Raceways on Thursday, June 9th. On Friday, June 10th Illinois SPEED Week will venture to Jacksonville Speedway before making the short jaunt to Macon Speedway on Saturday, June 11th. Illinois SPEED Week will conclude at Lincoln Speedway on Sunday, June 12th.

Other standout events include Fayette County Speedway on Friday, May 20th and St. Francois County Raceway on Saturday, June 25th after a night of racing at Belle-Clair Speedway. The 2nd Annual Camfield Memorial will also be on the Micro Series schedule at Macon Speedway on Saturday, August 20th. The 2016 season will conclude with the 12th Annual Charlene Meents Memorial at Belle-Clair Speedway on Saturday, October 1st.
