Joe B. Miller on Hot Streak, Takes Jacksonville Speedway Win

Jacksonville, IL– Joe B. Miller of Millersville, Missouri is on a two race win streak after dominating the Thursday night show at Quincy Raceways and now the Jacksonville Speedway event. Holding off Concordia, Missouri’s Nathan Benson for a majority of the race, Miller had to stay one step ahead of the three time and defending POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series champ to take the Illinois SPEED Week victory.

Starting on the pole with Benson behind him, Miller never once relinquished the lead during the 20 lap feature. Even with a total of four cautions, Benson was never able to capitalize on the slow in the action to make a move on Miller. With 16 laps in the books, the caution would fly, but Benson would not be able to use those cautions to his advantage as Miller’s restarts were too strong to overcome. Nick Howard took home third after starting fifth, while Scott Sawyer ended up fourth from 13th. Aaron Andruskevitch finished fifth.

“We were rolling good on the bottom early and I knew it was going to wear out because a lot of people were going to be down there,” said Joe B. Miller. “I seen Benson there in the middle and he almost got me on the outside so I moved up to the middle during lap traffic. During one of the restarts I got the signal that he was rolling to the cushion, so I made some adjustments to help it.”

“We were rolling around the top,” Nathan Benson said. “Lap traffic was in our favor. We could go about anywhere, but we got a little too locked down there in the end when we didn’t have clean air when his crew guy told him to move up. Give Joe B. Miller clean air and he’s going to be tough to pass. We gave it everything we have. FTZ built us a great engine.”

“Early on I lost the brakes, so that made it tough to run the bottom, but fortunately it went to the top and I’m happy with running the top here,” stated Nick Howard. “It just didn’t work out in my favor this time.”
