Harley Hollan Takes 2018 POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League Championship
Belleville, IL – For what is an enduring and trying season for anyone who attempts to tackle the full season, the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League tour displays some of the best micro sprint racing competition in the United States. Veteran driver Harley Hollan out of Tulsa, Oklahoma committed to the full 2018 tour and proved that with resounding confidence, grit, and determination that he has what it takes to be a champion. Joining the ranks of drivers such as Dereck King, Nathan Benson, and Jeremy Camp, Hollan added his name to the long list of champions.
With only three wins to his credit in 2018, proving just how challenging it is not only to win, but also how important it is to run consistently up front each night, Hollan had seven top fives and 13 top tens out of 15 feature events. Hollan’s three victories came mid-season with his first of 2018 occurring at the fast Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois during POWRi Illinois SPEED Week. His thrilling win at Fayette County came running the extreme top side of the high-banked and sweeping quarter-mile.
Hollan’s second 2018 win arose during the inaugural showing of the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League in the Second Annual Thunder in the Valley at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri. His third win, which was paramount in his campaign to seal the championship, came at the high banks of Southern Illinois Raceway. The final race of the season, Hollan was in a deficit of 20 points to Austin Schaeffer. By winning the race and with Schaeffer’s 19th place finish, Hollan sealed the championship and etched his name in the history books.
The POWRi season-ending championship banquet night will be announced soon. The banquet will honor the top-ten in each division. Stay tuned to POWRi.com and POWRi social media for more details.
