Key Unlocks Second Victory and Winfrey Wins in POWRi Central States Midget Duo
Belleville, IL. (06/14/2021) Hitting a two-day race weekend, the POWRi Central States Midget Series traveled from Butler, Missouri to Grain Valley, Missouri over the weekend with ample racing action stretching the Show-Me State. Featuring a repeat series winner in Kameron Key at Old 71 Speedway on Friday, and a first-time series winner in Chad Winfrey on Saturday at Valley Speedway.
Riding momentum from the series-opening feature victory, Warrensburg Missouri wheelman Kameron Key would add another piece of hardware to the trophy case doubling down on POWRi CSMS wins with a dominating night at Old 71 Speedway. Winning his heat race Key would rush to the lead in the feature from a second starting position to check-out on the field, stretching the other competitors by over half a lap.
Running from seventh to winning the other heat race at Old 71 Speedway would find Chad Frewaldt starting pole for the feature and holding a solid showing of finishing second. Casey Hicks and Chad Winfrey would have an intense battle for third and fourth with Hicks grabbing the podium spot late leaving Winfrey to place fourth with open-wheel journeyman Brad Wyatt rounding out the Old 71 Speedway top-five finishers for the POWRi Central States Midget Series.
Then the next night at Valley Speedway, the series would step up the excitement with Chad Winfrey winning the feature in a drag race off turn-four with Kameron Key. Winfrey would start third to race into his first POWRi Central States Midget Series feature victory with heat-race winner Key placing runner-up by mere fractions of a second.
Pole-starter and other heat-race winner Joe Walker would run a steady race notching a podium finish by holding off the hard-charging efforts of Morgan Frewaldt-Gilbert, who would run from starting seventh to finishing fourth. Notching a pair of solid showings on the weekend the talented Kearney Missouri wheelman Brad Wyatt would again round out the Valley Speedway top-five finishers for the POWRi Central States Midget Series.

The POWRi Central States Midget Series will next see racing action on Saturday, June 26th with a return trip to Valley Speedway in Grain Valley Missouri. Pit’s will be open all day with racing action scheduled to kick-off at 7 PM.
