Brown Scores Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series Spring Showdown Win at Lake Cumberland

BURNSIDE, KENTUCKY (April 17, 2021)– The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series would conclude the 2021 Spring Showdown tour opening weekend at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY on Saturday evening and Blake Brown of Corbin, KY would lead all 25 laps of the event, with the defending series champion picking up a $1,200 payday for his efforts.

The 22-year old, second-generation racer would claim his fifth career Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series victory aboard a Lightning Chassis powered by a Vic Hill Race Engine and carrying sponsorship from Edgewood Homes of Williamsburg, Don Franklin Ford of London, Lawyer Muscle Racing, Kentucky Clutch, Kevin and Larry Ison Motorsports, Kentucky Farm Bureau by Blake Brown, and Wheelersburg Raceway.

Blake Brown would grab at the start of the main event, followed by Adam Stricker, Cole Falloway, Michael Asberry, and Wayne James after lap one. Lap three would see Trae Soper draw the first caution of the event and the attempted restart would see Dakota Curry have problems in turn four. The front five would remain the same of the restart and by lap ten, Brown would be in traffic and by lap fourteen would be in heavy lapped traffic, allowing Stricker to move in and challenge Brown for the top spot, but never able to make a move for the lead. Richard Miracle would spin in turn four the slow the action on lap seventeen, with first through fourth maintaining their positions, while Ricky Tinch would challenge Wayne James for fifth. Curry would draw another caution on lap nineteen and the attempted restart would see caution wave as well as four cars would tangle in turn four and fifth-place running James would pull pitside with front suspension damage. Brown and Stricker remained one-two on the restart, while Asberry would challenge Falloway for third and grab the position on lap twenty-one. One final caution for debris in turn two would appear to set up a short run to the finish. Brown would get away from Stricker and take the victory, with Stricker second, and Asberry finishing third. Falloway and Tinch would complete the top five finishers. The remainder of the top ten finishing drivers would be David Clark, Robby Reagan, Richie Overholser, Amos Bunch, and Tim Patrick.
