Blake Brown Victorious in Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series Action

MARYVILLE, TENNESSEE (June 19, 2021)– The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series and Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series would be in action at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN for the 17th Annual Iron-Man Classic. Hudson O’Neal of Martinsville, IN would take the lead on lap 13 and drive to the $5,000 victory and become the seventh different winner in seven series event this season with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series. Blake Brown of Corbin, KY would drive to his third victory of the season in the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series portion of the event and would score his third victory of the season.

The victory by the 22-year old Brown would be his seventh career Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series victory and third of the season and would come behind the wheel of a Lightning Chassis powered by a Vic Hill Race Engine and carrying sponsorship from Edgewood Homes of Williamsburg, Don Franklin Ford of London, Z-Max, Lawyer Muscle Racing, Kentucky Clutch, Kevin and Larry Ison Motorsports, Kentucky Farm Bureau by Blake Brown, and Wheelersburg Raceway.

Blake Brown would take the lead at the start of the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series, with Ryan Ayers, Clayton Miller, Ricky Tinch, and Josh Harris giving chase. Two cautions in the early going on laps two and four would slow the action and Brown would maintain the lead on both restarts. Miller would work past Ayers on lap thirteen and begin to chase down Brown in the late going of the event, while Ayers would have mechanical issues and would pull in with just a couple of laps remaining. Brown would repel Miller’s charges in the late going and take the victory, with Miller finishing second and Harris taking the final podium spot in third. Ricky Tinch would finish fourth, while Amos Bunch would complete the top five.

The next event for the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will be at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, TN on Saturday July 10 and that event will pay $1,200 to win and $125 to start.
