Setters Runs Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series Winning Streak to Eight in a Row and Produces Top 10 With ASCS Frontier Region

Inside Line Promotions – BILLINGS, Mont. (Aug. 17, 2020) – The winning streak continues for James Setters, who scored his eighth straight Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series triumph last Friday at Electric City Speedway.

Setters, who was driving for Mike Quigley, is undefeated in five starts this season with the series. That has all but wrapped up his second straight series championship. Setters said all he needs to do to win the championship is simply start the A Main during the season finale on Aug. 28.

“I want to thank Mike and Sam Quigley and everyone who helps on our sporty deal,” he said.

Setters managed a clean sweep, winning the heat race from the pole and capturing the main event from the fourth straight position last Friday.

He then took that momentum into his family owned 360ci winged sprint car on Saturday at Big Sky Speedway, where Setters tackled an ASCS Frontier Region event. He won a heat race from second to make the feature redraw.

“I got the jump on the start and ran the cushion the rest of the heat race,” he said. “There was a close call. I got a little higher than I should have the last lap, but we hung on.”

Setters pulled the No. 7 to line up on the inside of the fourth row for the main event.

“We really like the Slade shocks on the 360,” he said. “They are really consistent. It was a really difficult track and hard to find the moisture, but it was really fun. Our Tony Borello engine ran great and the car handled well, too.”

Setters duked it out just outside the top five throughout the feature before placing sixth, which was his season-best result in a 360 sprint car.

Setters plans on venturing to Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., this Thursday. It will be his season debut at the track.
