Setters Sweeps Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series Season Opener at Electric City Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – GREAT FALLS, Mont. (May 6, 2021) – James Setters is undefeated through the first Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series event of the 2021 season.

Setters, who has won the series championship each of the last two years, swept the season opener last Saturday at Electric City Speedway. He led the distance in a Mike Quigley owned sprint car to win both a heat race and the main event at the dirt oval.

“It’s nice to start off with a win since we ended last year with a second-place run,” Setters said. “It was a confidence booster because you start to get rusty in the offseason. It’s nice to come back, shake it off and get a win.”

Setters drew the outside of the front row for a heat race and immediately took the top spot en route to the win. That advanced him into the feature redraw and he pulled the No. 1 to garner the pole position for the A Main.

“It went pretty good,” he said. “The car was a little bit off, but we’ll work on it throughout the season. The Slade shocks really stuck the car to the track though. The cushion was technical and fun to run. It was a blast.”

Setters, who will graduate from high school in June, is off for the next three weekends before a Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series event at Electric City Speedway on May 29.
