Setters Remains Undefeated in Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series Action at Electric City Speedway This Season

Inside Line Promotions – GREAT FALLS, Mont. (May 31, 2021) – James Setters swept the second Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series event of the season last Saturday at Electric City Speedway to remain undefeated this season.

Setters won both his heat race and the main event – a feat he also accomplished in the Mike Quigley owned No. 2 sprint car during the season opener.

“We tried a new setup so that made it a lot more fun,” he said. “We wanted to get more entry speed so I could carry more speed through the corner. We’ll throw that in the 360 now.”

Setters quickly took the lead during his heat race at the dirt oval, powering from the outside of the front row and into the lead right away.

“The heat was pretty fun,” he said. “I started on the outside and had to get him on the top on the first lap.”

Setters then lined up on the pole for the 20-lap main event.

“In the main Kory Wermling started on the outside and I feel like he’s our biggest competition,” he said. “I slid him in the first corner and he turned under me, but I had the momentum on the top. There wasn’t much on the bottom. On Lap 3 he slid me on a restart, but didn’t quite get me. A few laps later there were two cars above me and one below me in traffic. I split them and that was the move that put it away.”

Setters led the distance of the feature for his 11th series victory in the last 13 races dating back to the start of the 2019 season.

The next event is this Saturday when Electric City Speedway hosts Round 3 of the Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series season.
