Auto City Speedway Partners with Non-Profit: Voices for Children Advocacy Center (Flint, MI) for Stampede at the City – 3-Day Western Festival!
Auto City Speedway is very excited to announce our partnership with Non-Profit Organization – Voices for Children Advocacy Center in Flint, MI. For our Stampede at the City – 3 Day Western Festival, you will see the lovely faces of the staff, who work day-in and day-out to provide life changing services to kids in the Genesee and Shiawassee Counties who are suffering from abuse, neglect, trafficking and more. Auto City Speedway will proudly be giving back to this non-profit organization for the duration of our 3-day Western Festival and hopefully more events in the future to help in any way that we can.
ELGA Credit Union, a 13-year track sponsor of Auto City, is partnering with us to give back to this incredible organization. We will provide raffles, boxes for donations, a percentage of our ticket sales will be going toward Voices for Children, and more.
Voices for Children Overview: “Our center serves as a voice and an advocate for children throughout Genesee and Shiawassee Counties. Voices for Children Advocacy Center serves (1) child victims of abuse and neglect and their families (including human trafficking), (2) with prevention for children in Genesee and Shiawassee Counties, and (3) advocacy for the well-being of the child.
Voices for Children Advocacy Center works to intervene the alarming number of children who are victims of abuse by educating, empowering, and enlightening the community, school-aged children, and parents about prevention factors. Voices for Children leads the community in responding to victims of child abuse violence and works to break the cycle of abuse via prevention, and intervention programming, as well as community education. Voices for Children is dedicated to building healthy relationships and provides a continuum of services for persons of all ages who have been, or are at risk of being, victims of child abuse or neglect. Our agency’s model is grounded in a strengths-based, empowerment philosophy and incorporates best practices and evidence-based strategies.
All of our services are completely free to the family. Voices for Children Advocacy Center creates a vital link between community services and victims of child abuse.”
Voices for Children Mission: “Voices for Children Advocacy Center is dedicated to serving the child victims and families of child abuse in Genesee and Shiawassee Counties and enhancing the lives of all children through treatment, education, and by increasing community awareness.”
Voices for Children Vision: “Shining a light so all children are empowered, and all families are thriving.”
Voices for Children provides services for children, child & family therapy, court appointed special advocates, prevention, and training. Last year alone, Voices for Children serviced over 4,000 kids and families in the Genesee and Shiawassee Counties.
When Sharon and I took a visit to the Voices for Children house, we sat down with Nyce (President & CEO), to discuss how we could help and provide for their organization at our event. We had a great conversation and got to tour the home. The house itself is extremely intentional to provide the best care possible that they can for the children that come in. They have made sure that triggers are not in any room of the house, colors are coordinated to uplift the children, and even Daphne, their canine advocate who is there to help any child feel warm. We got to meet some of the staff whose hearts were full and faces full of smiles, with us knowing the care they give to these children is outstanding.
Please help us support and give back to Voices for Children at our upcoming event Stampede at the City – 3-Day Western Festival for all of the hard work the staff do every day. Voices for Children works closely with law enforcement as well as CPS to ensure the safety of the children in the Genesee and Shiawassee Counties.
Next week, on Tuesday, January 31st, the Genesee County Human Trafficking Taskforce, Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, United Way of Genesee County and Voices for Children Advocacy Center will be holding a candlelight vigil at the Office of Genesee County Sheriff to honor survivors, and remember those lost to human trafficking and sexual violence at 5pm.
