Race of Champions Modified Series official “Butch” Williams has been released from Hammett Hospital in Erie, Pa.

Williams slipped and fell Saturday night and suffered a head laceration and was taken to Hammett Hospital for observation where he was released on Monday, August 17 after being cleared from observation.

“I want to thank the safety crew, ambulance team and everyone at the track,” stated Williams. “Everyone did an outstanding job and the people who have reached out to me is incredible. I can’t say enough about the racing community, it is one big family and I am just happy to be a part of it. I look forward to seeing everyone when we get back to the track in September.”

A brief "Kids RoC" update from this past Saturday. 37 kids signed up for the club and participated. We had 3 coloring contest winners and we will be producing a "Kids RoC" Facebook page where will we post photos, some of the coloring and other craft efforts from the kid's, along with updates on future events for the "Kids RoC" group, the Race of Champions Kids Club.

PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM JOE SKOTNICKI

First and foremost on behalf of the entire Series, "Thank You" for the turnout that exceeded all expectations this past Saturday night at Lake Erie Speedway.

Had I known what the turnout was going to exactly be, I would have prepared the event night schedule much differently and for the late end to the show, I would like to apologize. All of us "stub our toe" from time-to-time and I just plain missed it Saturday night. on the car count. I wish I could go back and fix, but once you publish a start time, you are held to it.

We've learned from it and we will adjust going forward. Again, I apologize, that is squarely on my shoulders.

Again, thank you for your patience and working through it with our group. Other than being late, it was an incredible night of racing and I'm grateful all of you chose to be a part of it with us.

We will be making some adjustments to the Presque Isle Downs and Casino Race of Champions Weekend schedule, which could be released as soon as Friday, so please stay tuned.

Have a great remainder of the week, enjoy your weekend and good luck to those of you who are competing elsewhere throughout the region and country,

Sincerely,

Joe Skotnicki
