36th ANNUAL TRIBUTE TO TOMMY DRUAR AND TONY JANKOWIAK HEADLINES ROC MODIFIED SERIES AT LANCASTER MOTORPLEX SATURDAY, AUGUST 16

The Race of Champions Modified Series will make its second and final visit of the season to Lancaster Motorplex next Saturday, August 16, for one of the sport’s most meaningful traditions — the 36th Annual Tribute to Tommy Druar and Tony Jankowiak.

This year’s event features a 110-lap Modified main event paying $5,000 to win, with teams permitted one tire change during the race. In addition to the purse, lap money collected by the late Laurie Keech Coccionitti will be distributed to competitors. Coccionitti, a dedicated FOAR SCORE Fan Club officer and beloved supporter of regional racing, passed away on December 31, 2024. The Keech family will oversee the fund distribution.

Andy Jankowiak of Buffalo, N.Y., will be looking to add another win to his record in the race honoring his father and uncle.

“This race means everything to my family and me,” said Jankowiak. “It’s not only about competing — it’s about remembering two people who made a huge impact on my life and the sport. We’ve been working hard to improve our program, and hopefully we’ll be in the fight for the win at the end. It’s always an exciting night at Lancaster.”

Mike Leaty of Williamson, N.Y., winner of the Ol’ Boy Cup earlier this season at Lancaster on June 26, will also be among the favorites.

The night will include Lancaster Motorplex’s weekly divisions in addition to the Modifieds, ensuring a full card of high-speed action.

The lap fund, assembled by Laurie Keech Coccionitti, features contributions from fans, teams, and businesses throughout the racing community. This year’s bonuses include:

· Druar Family Bonus: $25 each to 3rd and 7th place cars on Lap 37

· Joe Franco Memorial: $73 to the leader of Lap 73 in memory of Tony Jankowiak

· Ice Whiskey Bonus: $100 to the race winner

· Wicked Kool Fabrication / Wicked Kool Powdercoat Hot Lap Hero: $100 to the fastest car in practice

· Rich Littlefield Hard Charger Award: $200 to the driver passing the most cars under green

· KLAS Motorsports Bonus: $1,000 distributed in $100 increments from the last starter forward — bringing start money to $600 to start
