Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (Sept. 5, 2019) – Scott Bogucki remains in the hunt for the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour title thanks to a pair of podium finishes last weekend.

The SawBlade.com sponsored team scored a third-place result last Friday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, and another third on Sunday at Lake Ozark Speedway to stay third in the ASCS national standings.

“We were really good at 34 Raceway, winning our heat from third and staying in the top three the entire feature,” Bogucki said.

However, the opening night of a two-night event at Lake Ozark Speedway had Bogucki scratching his head on Saturday.

“I had a bunch of left rear tires that I thought were in good shape from the Knoxville Nationals and we put one on Saturday and the car was absolutely horrible,” he said. “I had to take a provisional and just pulled in. We changed to a different compound for Sunday and the car was a rocket. That’s literally all we did. We didn’t change shocks, bars or anything and we went out and ran second in the heat and ran away with the qualifier and was battling for the feature win. I’m really baffled on this one.

“This track challenges our team like no other and this weekend was no different. But I think we got a pretty good handle on a dry slick track Sunday.”

Bogucki and the SawBlade.com team will take this weekend off before the final push for the ASCS title.

“We have nine races left and we will take this weekend to get everything organized and go through everything and make sure we are ready for this final push,” he said. “We are still in the top three in points and we have a huge weekend coming up and I’d like to put a little more buffer between myself and the fourth-place team.”

The next ASCS National Tour event is Sept. 19-21 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., for the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial.

“Last year we got a third, blew a motor and came from eighth to finish second on the final night in Wheatland so we are pumped up to get back there,” Bogucki said.
